Enabling Tami
Connect a Tami virtual POS account with your Merchant serial number, Terminal number, Secret key, and optional signing keys, and test 3D Secure checkout.
Updated
Connect Tami under Settings > Payments to accept 3D Secure card payments and process order refunds through your Tami virtual POS account.
Before you start
- Sign in as the store owner or with a staff account that has permission to manage Payments. Staff accounts without Payments permission cannot open the Tami settings page.
- Have an active Tami merchant account. Tami (a Garanti BBVA payment institution in Türkiye) requires merchant onboarding before you can accept live payments; confirm that foreign-currency acceptance is enabled on your Tami terminal if your store charges in USD, EUR, or GBP.
- Confirm that your store currency is supported by the Tami integration:
EUR,GBP,TRYorUSD. While this guide uses USD examples, a USD store currency does not replace Tami's merchant and terminal eligibility requirements. - Obtain your POS API credentials (Merchant serial number, Terminal number, Secret key, and any optional JWS signing keys issued for your terminal) from your Tami Merchant Panel (
portal.tami.com.trfor live orsandbox-portal.tami.com.trfor sandbox).
Open the Tami setup
- In your Nevuto admin, go to Settings > Payments.
- Click Add payment in the upper-right corner, then select Add payment provider.
- In the Add payment method modal, enter Tami in Enter payment method. Clear any category tab filter if it hides the result.
- Select the Tami card to open its setup form.
If Tami is already configured on your store, click its row on Settings > Payments or open the row's three-dot menu and select Manage. Opening the setup form does not connect or activate Tami until you submit your credentials. Select any screenshot to view it at full size.
Match Tami credentials to the Nevuto fields
In your Tami Merchant Panel, copy your terminal's API credentials for the environment you want to configure:
- Merchant serial number (required): Your live Tami Merchant ID (Üye İşyeri Numarası).
- Terminal number (required): Your live Tami Terminal ID (Terminal Numarası).
- Secret key (required): Your live Tami Secret Key (Gizli Anahtar).
- Signing key id (kid) (optional): Your live JWS signing key ID, if Tami issued separate JWS signing keys for your terminal.
- Signing key (k) (optional): Your live JWS signing key value, if Tami issued separate JWS signing keys for your terminal. If your account uses Tami's standard credential scheme without separate signing keys, leave both Signing key id (kid) and Signing key (k) blank.
- Sandbox merchant serial number, Sandbox terminal number, Sandbox secret key, Sandbox signing key id, and Sandbox signing key (inside Sandbox mode): The corresponding test credentials from your Tami sandbox account.
If your Tami account uses separate signing keys, always enter both Signing key id (kid) and Signing key (k) together. Keep your Secret key and Signing key private and out of screenshots, emails and support tickets.
Configure sandbox mode
- In the Tami setup form under Configure API keys, click Sandbox mode to expand the test fields.
- Paste your test Merchant ID into Sandbox merchant serial number, your test Terminal ID into Sandbox terminal number, and your test Secret Key into Sandbox secret key.
- If your Tami sandbox terminal uses separate JWS signing keys, paste them into Sandbox signing key id and Sandbox signing key; otherwise leave both optional fields blank. You can leave the five live fields empty while setting up only sandbox testing.
- Turn on Enable sandbox mode so Nevuto connects to Tami's sandbox environment (
sandbox-paymentapi.tami.com.tr). - Turn on Enable payment status when you want Tami offered at checkout during testing.
- Review Payment Limits if you want to restrict Tami by cart total.
- Click Submit in the upper-right corner and wait for the confirmation toast.
When you click Submit, Nevuto checks that the three required fields for the active mode (Merchant serial number, Terminal number, and Secret key, or their sandbox equivalents) are filled in before saving. Because saving does not make a live network call to Tami, you must run a test checkout to verify your credentials. On a successful first save, Nevuto returns to Settings > Payments. Reopen Tami to confirm that your credentials were stored.
In the Payments list, Active or Inactive indicates whether customers see Tami at checkout, while Sandbox or Live shows which credential set is active.
This screenshot shows an unsaved example. All ten credential fields are intentionally empty and Enable payment status is off. Enter your own Tami test credentials before clicking Submit.
Test the 3D Secure payment flow
After saving your sandbox settings, test a complete 3D Secure card payment and return path before switching to live credentials. Obtain the current sandbox test card numbers and 3D Secure verification details from your Tami sandbox portal (sandbox-portal.tami.com.tr) or Tami integration support. Never use a real payment card in sandbox mode.
To run your own merchant test after saving sandbox credentials:
- Add a product to your storefront cart in a supported currency (
EUR,GBP,TRYorUSD) and proceed to checkout. - Select Tami as the payment method, enter a Tami sandbox test card, and submit the order.
- Complete the 3D Secure bank verification step and wait to be redirected back to your store.
- Confirm that the order is marked as paid in Nevuto and appears as completed in your Tami sandbox portal with the matching order amount.
- Run a second test where you cancel the 3D Secure verification prompt or use a declined test card to verify that unsuccessful attempts return to checkout without marking the order as paid.
Warning Because saving settings only verifies that the three core fields are non-empty, always complete a test checkout round-trip before going live.
Set payment limits
Use Payment Limits to control which cart totals can use Tami at checkout. Turn on the Payment Limits switch and enter a Minimum Cart Amount and Maximum Cart Amount in your store currency. The minimum amount cannot exceed the maximum amount.
Tip The $50–$500 USD range shown above is a prepared unsaved example, not a saved store setting or required range. Turn Payment Limits off if you do not want a custom cart-total restriction in Nevuto. Click Submit after editing limits and reopen the form to confirm they were stored.
Switch to live payments
After your sandbox tests pass and your live Tami terminal is active:
- Sign in to your live Tami Merchant Panel (
portal.tami.com.tr) and copy your production Merchant serial number, Terminal number, Secret key, and any optional signing keys. - In Nevuto, open Settings > Payments and select Tami.
- Paste your production credentials into Merchant serial number, Terminal number, Secret key, and (if applicable) Signing key id (kid) and Signing key (k).
- Expand Sandbox mode and turn off Enable sandbox mode so Nevuto connects to
paymentapi.tami.com.tr. - Confirm Enable payment status and Payment Limits are set as intended.
- Click Submit and verify that Settings > Payments lists Tami as Active in Live mode. Reopen Tami to confirm your live credentials are saved.
Your test credentials can remain in the sandbox fields; turning off Enable sandbox mode switches Nevuto to your live credentials.
Edit, refund, or deactivate Tami
Open Tami from Settings > Payments (or select Manage from the row's three-dot menu ) any time you need to rotate credentials, switch environments or adjust cart limits. Submit stays disabled until you change a field on the form.
You can issue full or partial refunds for Tami orders directly from the order details page in Nevuto Admin, where Tami handles same-day reversals or post-settlement refunds automatically.
To stop offering Tami at checkout without deleting your credentials, turn off Enable payment status and click Submit, or open the three-dot menu on the Tami row in Settings > Payments and select Deactivate. Choosing Delete from the three-dot menu removes the saved Tami configuration from your store. Deactivating or deleting Tami only affects new checkouts and does not cancel or refund past orders.
