What is Yandex Metrica?
Yandex Metrica is Yandex's free web analytics platform. It's the Russian-market equivalent of Google Analytics but with a few extras baked in: click maps, scroll maps, session replay, form analytics and a session recorder — all included for free, with no traffic caps.
If your store targets customers in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine or neighbouring Russian-speaking markets, Metrica is pretty much the default analytics choice. Search traffic from Yandex is substantial in those countries and Metrica gives you deeper insight into that traffic than Google Analytics does. It's also popular worldwide with merchants who want heatmaps and session replay without paying for Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity.
How Nevuto handles Yandex Metrica
- Nevuto injects the official Yandex Metrica counter script into every page of your storefront as soon as you save the integration, configured with your Counter ID.
- Yandex's own SDK handles page views, session tracking, heatmaps, session replay and traffic reports — Nevuto doesn't touch or intercept any of it.
- You can disable the integration at any time from the admin panel; the script is removed on the next page load.
Add Yandex Metrica to your Nevuto store
- Log in to your Nevuto admin panel.
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click the Add button next to Yandex Metrica.
- Paste your Counter ID into the input field (a purely numeric value, usually 8 digits).
- Toggle the status to Active and click Save.
Done — Yandex Metrica starts collecting data from your storefront immediately.
Where to find your Counter ID
- Sign in to metrica.yandex.com with your Yandex account.
- If you don't have a counter yet, click Add counter, fill in your storefront URL, and choose the regions you want to track.
- Open the counter's settings page.
- The Counter ID (Tag number) is shown at the top of the page — a purely numeric value like
12345678. - Copy it and paste it into Nevuto's Counter ID field.
Test that it's working
- Open your storefront in an incognito window and browse around for 30–60 seconds.
- Back in Yandex Metrica, open Reports → Standard → Traffic → Online (real-time report). Your session should appear within 10–20 seconds of loading the storefront.
- For an instant check that the script is loaded at all, open DevTools → Network tab, reload the storefront and look for requests to
mc.yandex.ru/metrika/tag.js. If they're there, Metrica is installed correctly. - Heatmaps and session replay take longer to populate — give it a few hours of real traffic.
Troubleshooting
- "Yandex Metrica is not configured correctly" on save: the Counter ID must be a purely numeric value, at least 5 digits. Paste only the ID, not the full snippet.
- No data in the Online report: confirm the integration status toggle is Active in Nevuto and that the Counter ID matches the one in Yandex Metrica. Hard-refresh your storefront with DevTools open to confirm
mc.yandex.rurequests are going out. - Metrica says the tag isn't installed: Yandex periodically scans your site for the tag. If the status stays red for more than a day, confirm the script is being served on all pages (check the page source for
mc.yandex.ru/metrika/tag.js). - Ad blockers: Metrica is blocked by some European and US-focused privacy extensions. Test in a clean incognito window or on a browser configured for your target market.
