Crisp Chat

What is Crisp Chat?

Crisp is a customer messaging platform that adds a live chat widget to your storefront so visitors can ask pre-sale questions, get support, or leave a message when you're offline. Behind the widget, Crisp gives your team a shared inbox, chatbots, canned responses, visitor history, co-browsing and integrations with email, Slack, Messenger and WhatsApp.

It's a solid fit for small-to-medium merchants who want a single place to answer customer questions without running a full-blown help desk.

How Nevuto handles Crisp Chat

  • Nevuto injects the official Crisp chat widget script into every page of your storefront as soon as you save the integration.
  • All messaging, visitor tracking and chatbot logic is handled by Crisp's own SDK — Nevuto doesn't touch the conversations or the data Crisp collects.
  • You can disable the integration at any time from the admin panel. The widget disappears from your storefront on the next page load.

Add Crisp Chat to your Nevuto store

  1. Log in to your Nevuto admin panel.
  2. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  3. Click the Add button next to Crisp Chat.
  4. Paste your Website ID into the input field.
  5. Toggle the status to Active and click Save.

Done — the Crisp chat bubble appears on your storefront right away.

Where to find your Website ID

  1. Sign in to your Crisp dashboard at app.crisp.chat.
  2. If you don't have a website set up yet, click Add a new website and follow the prompts.
  3. Go to Website Settings → Setup Instructions (sometimes labeled Integrations → Chatbox).
  4. In the HTML snippet Crisp shows you, look for CRISP_WEBSITE_ID = "..." — the value inside the quotes is a UUID-like string.
  5. Copy that value and paste it into Nevuto's Website ID field.

Test that it's working

  • Open your storefront in an incognito window. The Crisp chat bubble should appear in the bottom-right corner within a second or two.
  • Click the bubble and send a test message.
  • In your Crisp dashboard, go to Inbox → Conversations — the test message should appear immediately.
  • You can also open Inbox → Visitors to see yourself listed as an active visitor while you're browsing the storefront.

Troubleshooting

  • Chat bubble doesn't appear: confirm the Website ID is correct (a UUID-like string with dashes) and that the integration status toggle is set to Active.
  • Widget looks weird or cut off: widget styling, position and colours are configured inside Crisp → Website Settings → Chatbox Appearance, not in Nevuto.
  • Can't receive messages: make sure your Crisp account has an operator assigned to the website. Go to Website Settings → Operators and add yourself if the list is empty.
  • Ad blockers: some privacy extensions block chat widgets. Test in a clean incognito window with no extensions before assuming something's broken.
